Camil Petrescu was a famous Romanian novelist and poet who is well known for re-defining the way novels were written in Romania. He was born April 22nd, 1894 and passed away May 14th, 1957. During World War I, he was taken prisoner for two years by the Astro-Hungarians, after which he was released. His brief life as a prisoner inspired him to write the novel The Last Night of Love, The first Night of War.
